Biden Claims No One Lost Insurance Under Obamacare

Imahe
I’m old enough to remember when President Barack Obama promised, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.” I’m also old enough to remember that PolitiFact rated that claim the “Lie of the Year” for 2013. Yet on Thursday, Democratic nominee Joe Biden — who ostensibly might remember 2013 because he was serving as vice president that year — claimed that not a single person lost his or her health insurance under Obamacare. “Not one single person on private insurance would lose their insurance under my plan, nor did they under Obamacare. They did not lose their insurance unless they chose something else,” Biden said. It remains unclear whether or not people might lose their insurance under the Democrat’s plan, but it is one hundred percent certain that millions of Americans lost their health care plans under Obamacare. Analysts  estimated  that at least 4 million Americans lost their health insurance under Obamacare. Yet Joe Biden thought he could repeat the false...

State launches Aetna probe after stunning admission

During the deposition, the doctor said he was following Aetna’s training, in which nurses reviewed records and made recommendations to him. Jones said his expectation would be “that physicians would be reviewing treatment authorization requests,” and that it’s troubling that “during the entire course of time he was employed at Aetna, he never once looked at patients’ medical records himself.” “It’s hard to imagine that in that entire course in time, there weren’t any cases in which a decision about the denial of coverage ought to have been made by someone trained as a physician, as opposed to some other licensed professional,” Jones told CNN. “That’s why we’ve contacted Aetna and asked that they provide us information about how they are making these claims decisions and why we’ve opened this investigation.” The insurance commissioner said Californians who believe they may have been adversely affected by Aetna’s decisions should contact his office . Members of the medical commun...

El-Erian: Trump has a 75% chance of winning the trade war [Video]

Imahe
President Donald Trump’s trade war may soon escalate if the U.S. slaps more tariffs on import goods from China. Mohamed El-Erian, chief economic adviser at the Allianz Group and former CEO of PIMCO, assuaged U.S. investors by noting that the chance of the U.S. getting a better deal from the trade war is 3-in-4. “I think it’s really important to make a distinction between the journey and the destination,” El-Erian said on Yahoo Finance’s The Final Round on Tuesday. “The journey will involve lots of noise, lots of rhetoric about trade wars, and the technically vulnerable asset classes, such as emerging markets, are going to get hit because of that.” As for “the destination,” El-Erian predicts a promising outcome for the U.S. The most likely ending of this trade war is a fairer trade system with small tweaks, but no fundamental changes, said El-Erian, assigning a 60% probability to this scenario. “The U.S. will get its way. We’ll get concessions from other countries, but it won’t fu...

‘Shy’ Insurance Man Grows A Beard, And It Turns His Life Upside Down

Imahe
If our list of men before-and-after growing a beard didn’t convince you that males look way better with facial hair, this story definitely will. Gwilym Pugh was a 21-year-old businessman man who started a successful insurance company in his spare bedroom. However, working from home and injuries made him gain a lot of weight. 280 pounds, to be exact. But his life-damaging lifestyle changed after his barber urged Gwilym to grow a ginger beard! “At that time I was pretty overweight, working 12 hours a day, plagued with injuries which meant I couldn’t train at all,” the Welshman told Daily Mail. “The business was doing okay, but I decided I needed to get my life in order and wanted to get healthy again.” Gwilym and his friends formed a folk band several years ago. His barber advised him to grow some facial hair to look the part. In line with his new look, the freshly-baked musician decided to expand his transformation cleaning up his diet. The biggest change, however, was quitting...

Trump calls on Congress to pull back $15 billion in spending, including on Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Imahe
President Trump is sending a plan to Congress that calls for stripping back more than $15 billion in previously approved spending, with the hope that it will temper conservative angst over ballooning budget deficits. Almost half of the proposed cuts would come from two accounts within the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) that White House officials said expired last year or are not expected to be drawn upon. An additional $800 million in cuts would come from money created by the Affordable Care Act in 2010 to test innovative payment and service delivery models. Those are just a handful of the more than 30 programs the White House is proposing to Congress for “rescission,” a process of culling back money that was previously authorized. Once the White House sends the request to Congress, lawmakers have 45 days to vote on the plan or a scaled-back version of it through a simple majority vote. If approved by Congress, the reductions would represent less than 0.4...

White House, Senate reach deal on massive $2 trillion coronavirus spending bill

Imahe
WASHINGTON — The White House and Senate leaders reached an agreement early Wednesday on a massive $2 trillion coronavirus spending bill aimed at alleviating the economic impact of the outbreak. “At last, we have a deal. After days of intense discussions, the Senate has reached a bipartisan agreement on a historic relief package for this pandemic,“ Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., announced from the Senate floor shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday. "In effect, this is a war-time level of investment for our nation.” McConnell said he expected the legislation to be passed later Wednesday after the Senate returns at noon. “We have a bipartisan agreement on the largest rescue package in American history. This is not a moment of celebration but one of necessity,” said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York. Although the full text of the bill is not yet known, lawmakers indicated on Tuesday that the Republican’s initial proposal for direct cash payments would be...

New York City subway crisis keeps getting worse [Video]

Imahe
Subway delays in the nation’s largest city cost up to $389 million in lost productivity each year, according to the Office of the New York City Comptroller in October 2017 , and city officials are increasingly sounding the alarm. “Frankly, it was in a state of emergency long before Gov. Cuomo finally declared it one,” Nixon’s campaign told Yahoo Finance in an email. The statement cited declining subway performance, delays becoming increasingly worse, slow-moving trains and poor on-time performance. Earlier this year, the Wall Street Journal reported that an overhaul of the city’s subway and bus systems would take about 15 years and cost an estimated $43 billion. Nixon says that she would “tax the rich to fix the subway.” Governor Cuomo’s office did not respond to multiple requests for comment. ‘The transit system is the lifeblood of the city’ Marc Molinaro, the Republican nominee who will face Cuomo or Nixon on Nov. 6, recently released an MTA revitalization plan . He tol...

Senator Lindsey Graham Now Under Investigation For Campaign Finance Crimes, Ties To Russian Money

Imahe
After the news cycle of the last few months, Americans are painfully, acutely familiar with the face of a Senator that, until the Kavanaugh hearings, we had no idea had the capacity for a public psychotic break. Clinically speaking, the outburst we saw from Lindsey Graham of South Carolina was likely  not a display of psychosis. But the faces that he made as he decried what he considered to be a betrayal by Democrats over the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court showed him to be a man who is different than he has ever led us to believe in the past. In fact, many see Senator Graham as a different man now than even during 2016, when he railed against the nomination of Donald Trump as the Republican candidate for President. Some even believe that Trump himself, perhaps during some of the many rounds of golf he has played with Graham since the election, has privately told the 22-year member of Congress about something that could be devastating to his career if it were...
